The Garden In Eden

This is a large panel ideal for hanging in a large room, hospice, chapel or church.

It started life as a bedsheet: the holder of our dreams and nightmares - then it was wadded and carefully hand painted in coloured dyes and stitched silks. The design on top is worked in black strips of silk and black embroidery thread giving a graphic quality to the work.

At the centre of the garden in Eden are lots of creative creatures and the two named trees with the river, that divides into four tributaries flowing out to the north, south, east and west. All the earth will be watered from this garden. Around the edges there’s a pattern of trees and birds and an outer pattern of the sun, moon and stars.

A metal rod is threaded into the top hem for hanging the work from a thin cord and a metal bar is threaded into the bottom hem to give it weight. For further information and more detailed photographs please don’t hesitate to contact Jacqui.

Inside stitch panel: one square metre

Outside black edges: 135 x 135 cms
